Welcome

‘Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest ideal,
and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.’

Agile Intervision is a professional practice that supports people who lead others in the Agile Software Development community – people actively using methods like XP, Lean, Kanban and Scrum. As a short-hand, we often call these people ‘agile coaches’. This site presents an Intervision facilitation format designed by and for agile coaches.

Agile coaching is “applied coaching,” which some suggest is more like sports coaching than “pure” life coaching. An agile coach or leader tends to wear multiple hats – including trainer, mentor, coach and technical expert – as you see in the Agile Coaching Institutes’s competency model.

How do we stay on track while doing the more people-oriented side of our work? Professional development for the technical and process aspects of our work are now widespread, and we can learn coaching skills in various ways. But when it comes to applying people skills in the real world, there are few opportunities for a change agent to get a candid second opinion on a real case, to see where their blind spots lie, or simply to get neutral, experienced outside input.

The Agile Intervision facilitation format has been developed by agile coaches to help practitioners reflect, with help from peers who challenge their thinking and provide new impulses and ideas. It’s for experienced Team Leads, Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches and others who work regularly and actively with agile teams. This emphasis on being an active practitioner is important, because participants bring real cases and should receive input from practicing peers. Agile Intervision, as an in-person format, is already in use in Germany.
